Glen Haven Baptist Church Vision & History
Glen Haven Baptist Church was organized in 1947 as a conservative Southern Baptist Church. For 60 years, the church has been uncompromising in its belief in the inerrancy of the Bible and salvation througth faith in Jesus Christ alone. Our church was founded by Randy Hardeman, who served as our Pastor for 36 years. He faithfully preached the Gospel and was responsible for building a heritage of love and kindness among the people of Glen Haven.
Our Senior Pastor, Ralph Easterwood, began attending Glen Haven as a 12 year old boy. Here, he met his future wife, Gwendolyn Garrison. They fell in love, married, and have spent their lives in partnership in the ministry at Glen Haven. They are a delightful example of a loving couple who are committed to God and to each other. They are blessed with five wonderful children and 12 grandchildren.
Pastor Ralph has served the church as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, deacon, associate pastor for 16 years, and pastor since 1983. During his ministry as pastor, the church has seen the debt-free completion of two new additions to church buildings and renovation of the sanctuary and existing buildings. God has blessed Pastor Ralph with the ability to preach with the power of God. The anointed preaching of the Word of God equips us, the memebers, with the strength that we need to live our lives totally committed to the Lord so that we can be the Godly influence that will lead others to Christ.
Our staff is well trained. Our Co-Pastor, Stan Berrong, graduated from Liberty University. Our recent addition to the staff is our Pastor of Education and Evangelism, Mike Creasman. Pastor Mike Warren Green, Pastor to our youth, graduated from Georgia Tech and was recently a teacher and football coach with Georgia Walton Acadamy in Monroe, Georgia. Sandy Payton, our Director of Music Ministries, studied at Young Harris College. |
